Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
A child must attend placements to play on any BSA team - Town or BAYS (travel). A child WILL NOT be considered for a Division 1 or 2 BAYS (travel) team if he/she does not attend placements with his/her appropriate age group.
A child need only attend one placement session. BSA provides one Saturday and one Sunday session per age group to maximize flexibility in scheduling.
A child must try out with his/her specific age group by birth date as listed on placement schedule (see below). Grade-mating will be allowed for all In-Town Teams. For consideration of grade mating for Travel Teams, please contact Michael Pellegrini prior to registration. Grade-mating players must attend placements with the group with which s/he will play. For children who grademate but are too old for the age group, they may not play on a Division 1 or 2 Travel team team.
BAYS (travel) teams are offered for U9/U10* (combined), U11, U12, and U13/U14 (combined). U9 & U10 are small-field 6v6, U11 & U12 are medium-field 8v8, and U13-14 are large field 11v11. (*If there are sufficient numbers of players to maintain U9 only and/or U10 only teams then, at the discretion of the BSA Board, such single age group teams will be formed and placed appropriately within BAYS)
Town teams are offered for U9/U10 (combined) only.
Any special requests must be made IN WRITING. Email is acceptable, to Michael Pellegrini IN ADVANCE of the first day of placements (i.e., before Saturday, May 1). All such requests will be considered by the Placements Committee.
