Special Rules for 6v6 small sided games

  1. No offside.

  2. The ball cannot cross midfield on the fly if:

    • Thrown by goalkeeper

    • Punted by goalkeeper

    • A Goal kick

Penalty for above is an indirect kick by other team at the point where the ball crossed midfield

This rule does NOT apply under any other circumstances. Examples:

  • Goalkeeper puts the ball down before kicking it (no dropkicking, that is, the goalkeeper can’t drop the ball and kick it all in one motion over half field on the fly). The goalkeeper can, however, let the ball bounce twice and then kick it over half field on the fly.

  • Goalkeeper rolls the ball forward before kicking it

  • Free kick (direct or indirect

Special Rules for 8v8 small sided games

Rules Modifications from 11 v 11 - THERE IS OFFSIDES IN 8V8 GAMES

   1.   Goal kicks shall be taken from within six yards of the goal line.

2.   Indirect kicks awarded to the attacking team within the penalty area will   be placed at the spot of the infraction, but no closer than six yards from the goal / goal line.

3.   Note:  Although not a modification, the OFFSIDE rule will be in effect.

Field Dimensions:

The ideal field size for 8v8 is 70 x 50 yards, with a 14 X 34 yard penalty area. These are not rigid requirements.  The penalty mark will be at the usual 12 yards.   Clearly visible dots or dotted lines may be used to mark the penalty  areas to avoid excessive lining and confusion on regulation fields.   Intermediate goals of 6 ft x 18 ft are recommended, but again this is not a rigid requirement. The goals must be anchored securely to the ground.
